Overview

Black Opal Equity (BOE) is a private investment firm that specializes in the acquisition and management of private middle-market businesses based in the United States. We look to acquire well-established companies with strong potential for organic growth, typically with annual EBITDA of between $2.5 million and $20 million.

BOE looks for high quality companies that service, or partner with, the infrastructure, essential service and government sectors in the United States.

BOE’s strategy is to make controlling investments in private companies and to assume an active, day-to-day operational role. As owner-operators we are able to provide additional management resources as well as growth capital to help develop market-leading enterprises.

Our active participation strategy provides a unique liquidity opportunity for business owners looking to remove, or partially remove, themselves from day-to-day operations, as well as for larger businesses looking to divest of non-core divisions.

Our team has acquired and grown numerous profitable middle-market businesses, and understand the financial and operational issues faced by owners and managers of growth companies. Our active management role demonstrates our high level of commitment to driving our investments to success.

We are flexible regarding deal structure and will work with owners on a confidential basis to develop a tailored transaction and ownership transition plan that addresses the unique requirements of their business and personal situation.
